Booklook Community Guidelines

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Booklook is a place to keep your library and share what you read. These guidelines keep it welcoming. They apply to everything you add: your username, display name, avatar, bio, reviews, and reading lists. They form part of the Terms of Use. Contact: hello@booklook.io.

Keep it about books

Booklook is for readers. Share your shelves, reviews and lists. Be honest and be kind, even when you disagree about a book.

What is not allowed

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content. Do not post, upload, or set as your avatar, username or anywhere else:

Avatars, usernames and display names are held to the same standard, since they are visible across the app.

Reporting and blocking

If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report option on the profile, review or list. You can also Block another reader, which hides you from each other. Reports are reviewed and we aim to act within 24 hours.

Automated screening

We may screen uploaded images automatically to detect objectionable material, and reject or remove anything that trips it.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on severity, we may remove the content, hide it, warn you, or suspend or permanently ban the account. Serious cases, such as content that is illegal or endangers someone, may be reported to the authorities.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email hello@booklook.io and we will take a fresh look.
